Did anyone see Fran Frascillaās comments on KU on X? He was extremely high on them, and said that they are vastly underrated. Thinks Calderon is a star in the making, and says he doesnāt see a way DP doesnāt end up a 1st team AA. Iām no fan of FF, but thatās pretty high praise from a guy who knows hoops, and is around our program a lot.

I have a hard time thinking BS is not going to make a hard push for NC #3, and then hang it up. Someone said earlier that these coaching changes are him laying the groundwork for an exit in 2 years, while leaving KU on stable footing. While I donāt deny that he would want to do that (he certainly has to understand that the opposite would negatively impact his legacy), I think heās far more interested in getting #3, and into some really rarified air for coaches and their # of NCs.

This all day please. Penetrating guards completely screw with a defense. All focus inherently goes to the penetrator, and then if the other 4 offensive players relocate or cut to the basket, itās open shots and/or free throws. Sr. year Tyshawn was so good at this.

Even if Duke had won, their true fans would have wanted HD to be in there. No one wants to be handed a game like that w/out earning it outright.
I am shocked the refs booted HD. F2s/ejections are reserved for egregious behavior and should be used responsibly. What is the point of F1s? No to mention, HD was getting mauled for 10 straight minutes before that, with no love from the zebras. So he got frustrated, and lashed out. F1 and move on. Let the best players decide the game.

Refs talking to duke players, ācāmon weāre trying to give you the game, help us outā
This is the reason I came here, and this is literally the first comment I scroll to⦠BS⦠ESPN put the word out: Duke wins this game.

āSelfās mastery of interviews speaks to an ability to navigate this world without a crutch. Iām sure he sees sobriety as an advantage and better existence and sticks close to it.ā
Man, approx, this is so well said, and incredibly insightful. Makes me wonder if you have a Psych background⦠As weāve seen recently with Huggins, even the most seasoned of coaches, with hours upon hours of interview experience, it is not hard to put your foot squarely in your own mouth in a matter of seconds. That split second of time where your brain takes a break, and you inadvertently blurt out something stupid, can do damage to your credibility, and reputation, for much longer. Avoiding these lapses in judgment, suggests someone who is sharp, and always thinking a couple of steps ahead. And although he may enjoy some downtime with an adult beverage, heās not likely to succumb to overindulge too often. Especially during season, or peak basketball activity time periods (in season, recruiting, etc.).
Literally LOLād. Hilarious!

Curious as to why you think leaving now better helps his chances of getting the all important 2nd contract? Because I definitely agree that that is the ultimate goal in the NBA. With that comes generational wealth, and possibly even a pension. But the NBA Draft history is LITTERED with examples of kids who came out too early, were exposed, and never reached that elusive goal. Whereas there are scores of examples of kids staying in college, developing their overall game, and sticking around, even as just role players. A more recent example I can think of, is Jalen Brunsen from Villanova. But also think a Nick Collision. Nick never sticks in the league that long if he doesnāt spend all that time in college⦠Just curious genuinely, as to your tea, I just happen to think the opposite.
So the games that are on ESPN & ESPN2, are those streamable? I ask because I was not able to watch MNF last night on my ESPN+ app.
Live in KS, by the way
Iāve recently cut the cord from cable. Although I donāt miss it a stitch, I am getting anxious about the upcoming bball season. Does anyone have an idea of the breakdown of games for this upcoming season, and the streaming options that are available for them? Will there be certain games that arenāt available to stream?
Much appreciated
āThe best players on this team are perimeter guys. That means interior guys are on the floor to play hard, grab rebounds and dunk lobs. Thatās it. They get few or no post touches because thatās not the strength of this team. Last night, Big Dave got going because he was pursuing every rebound. That has to continue. He has to understand that most of his offense will come from putbacks, so he better get on the glass on both ends. Same for Mitch. Same for whoever else gets minutes at the 5.ā

This is the last Iāll comment on the matter, because itās obvious weāre on opposite sides, and neither anything you or I say, is going to move either of us off our positionā¦
Our pediatrician, who shared that she herself and her husband are vaccinated and also wonāt be vaxxing theyāre kids, said to us that there is no long term data on how the vaccine will react with our bodies. And since young children will recover at a 99.9% clip, if they do catch Covid, why would we subject our young children to something that we donāt know or not, if there are long term effects. My 5 year old is still growing and developing, whoās to say that the vaccine might not stunt that growth and/or development? Only time will tell, but Iām not using my 2 young kids as guinea pigs, just cause Fauci and Biden say itās my moral obligation. Fauci has changed his position so many times, he could field a whole baseball team. Who knows where or what heāll prance out as truth in a few weeks. No thank you.
@wissox
Iām highly skeptical of this, with all due respect. If masks were truly that effective, how to explain how Omnicron is spreading the most rapidly in the NE (NY primarily), where they have some of the strictest mask laws in the country⦠And by the way, Iām fully vaccinated, with my booster scheduled. Wife, same. 18 yr. old vaccinated. 17 yr. old, scheduled. I will not be vaccinating my young children on the advice of my pediatrician . Iām pro vaccination. I also think masks work, to a degree. But I donāt believe itās my right to tell you what to do with your body. āMy body, my choice ā, right? Isnāt that the liberals battle cry? And Iām also a realist. Iām not going to freak out every time there is a Covid spike. Because Covid is here to stay. We canāt eliminate it (at least now), and there is no way humanly possible to prevent all people from getting it. No matter how much you beat your chest, and foam at the mouth⦠We have to learn how to manage it because itās not going away anytime soon.
Guys/Gals,
This is insane talk. The Omnicron variant, is highly contagious, but is far less deadly than the original strain. Weāre going to get this strain, most likely, and itās due primarily to it being the winter season, so people are indoors much more than spring/summer. The vaccinated are still catching this strain, but are much less affected by the symptoms. We should all be welcoming getting this strain, so we can get it over with, have immunity for the rest of the season, and move on. The tragedy, is the people calling the shots, are treating this like the original strain, and locking people down, for what amounts to not much more than a severe cold. If weāre supposed to trust the science, why are we not doing that as it pertains to our decision making. Look at the data, itās all there.
I agree here. Change it up. Itās painfully obvious that Dave is not a traditional, back to the basket, post player. So stop trying to force the issue. Heās got a pretty good motor, heās strong and athletic (although WEAK around the rim), is a pretty good weak-side shot blocker, and is a good FT shooter.
Those are all complimentary traits, and not meant to be a focal point.
